GPA from course grades and credit hours on a 4.0-style scale. The Everyday GPA page is a duplicate that canonicalizes here. Letter-to-point maps vary by school.
Formula
GPA = Σ(grade points × credit hours) / Σ credit hours.
How to calculate
- Add each course: letter or points, and credits.
- The page weights by credits and divides by total credits.
- Cumulative GPA across terms: treat prior GPA × prior credits as one extra row if you know those totals.
Example
Two 3-credit courses at 4.0 and 3.0: (4×3 + 3×3) / 6 = 3.5.
Common mistake
A+ = 4.0 vs 4.3 is school-specific. Weighted (honors/AP) scales add extra points; this page only uses the points you enter.
FAQ
How is cumulative GPA calculated?
Weight each course by credits, sum, and divide by total credits. Letter-to-point scales vary by school.
Is this weighted GPA?
Only if you enter the weighted points your school uses. The formula is always credit-weighted; it does not invent AP boosts.
